Michele Burgen (1954-1980) was a 26-year-old assistant magazine editor who had an appointment with Ernest Edwards in Philadelpha, Pennsylvania. Edwards was a Nation of Islam businessman associated with the notorious Philadelphia Mosque No. 12. There has been no indication if his ties were thoroughly investigated. Shortly, after her meeting with Edwards she was found shot to death at LaGuardia Airport on February 25, 1980 in a Hertz rental car.
